Julia Ross was born on July 22, 1995. Her younger sister, Alicia, is also a gymnast. She began competing for Vitaly Scherbo School of Gymnastics. She moved to Gymcats after the 2003 season. Julia moved to Brown's Gymnastics after the 2007 State Championships. She will graduate from high school in 2013.
In 2003, Julia competed level five. She finished third on floor at the Vegas Vacation. At the Shamrock Invite, she finished in the top ten. Julia moved up to level six in 2004. She placed first on floor and in the all-around at the State Championships. In 2005, she won vault, floor and the all-around as a level seven at the State Championships. Julia began competing level eight in 2006. She finished first on floor at the AOGC Invitational. At the Cactus Cooler Invitational, she won beam. She finished first on bars and second all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she placed fourth on floor and ninth all-around.
Julie moved up to level nine in 2007. She placed third on vault and bars at the State Championships. At Regionals, she placed second on floor and sixth all-around. She ended her season at Westerns with a eighth place finish on bars. In 2008, Julia began competing level ten. She was sidelined with various injuries including a broken ankle, tear of her abductor muscle and a deep laceration on her face. She recovered in time to win a silver medal on bars at the Battle in Seattle. At the State Championships, she finished second on bars and fourth on beam, her only events. At Regionals, Julia placed fourth on bars and seventh all-around. She ended her season at JO Nationals.
In 2009, Julia finished tenth all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she won bars. She finished second all-around. She ended her season at JO Nationals, competing only on vault, bars and floor. She placed fifth on bars. In 2010, Julia placed second on bars and beam at the Lady Luck Invitational. She finished third all-around. She won a bronze medal on vault at the Wine Country Classic. She won the all-around at the Long Beach Open. At the State Championships, she won beam and placed third on vault. She finished third on bars and tenth all-around at Regionals. In 2011, Julia finished first on floor at the Lady Luck Invitational. She placed second on bars at the Heart of a Champion Invitational. At the Malibu Coast Challenge, she finished third on bars. SHe won beam at the State Championships. At Regionals, she placed first on floor. Julia finished third on beam and 24th all-around at JO Nationals.
