Jordan Schwikert was born in Las Vegas, Nevada on August 15, 1986. She is the daughter of Shannon Warren and Joy Schwikert. Her sister, Tasha, was an Olympian in 2000. They both were on the UCLA team. Jordan began gymnastics in 1989. She trained at Gymcats during her club career. She was on the National TOPs Team in 1995, 1995, 1996 and 1997.
In 1998, she competed as a TOPs Elite at the American Challenge. By 2000, she was competing as an international elite. She competed at both the US Classic and American Classic. In 2001, Jordan placed eighth all-around at the US Classic. She placed third on vault and floor. At the US National Championships, she finished seventh all-around. This qualified her for the US National Team. Jordan began competing as a senior international elite in 2002. She won the Gymnix International all-around title. She also won bars. At the National Elite Podium Meet, Jordan placed second all-around. She then finished third all-around at the American Classic. Unfortunately, Jordan could not finish the competition at the US National Championships because of a back injury.
After more than a year off, Jordan competed as a level ten in 2004. She won the Nevada State Championships. She won the uneven bars title as well as the all-around crown. At Regionals, Jordan placed second all-around. She was third on vault and beam. She won bars. Her final meet was the JO National Championships. She finished second all-around and second on bars!
In the fall, she began attending UCLA. As a freshman, she finished in the top three twenty one times. She was a Second-team All-American on beam. Jordan was an All=Pac-10 selection in the all-around. She placed third at the NCAA Regionals. As a sophomore, Jordan had shoulder surgery in November. She missed the first few meets. She won floor against Washington and Stanford/San Jose State. She won three vault titles in a row against Cal, Washington and Georgia. She earned Pac-10 Gymnast of the Week honors. She returned to all-around in March. Jordan finished third at the Pac-10 Championships.
As a junior in 2007, she earned Pac-10 Gymnast of the Week honors. She earned All-Pac-10 honors on the uneven bars. She was limited to bars in the first five meets because of a hamstring injury. At the NCAA Championships, she competed on vault and floor in the Super Six. In 2008, she was named UCLA's Gymnast of the Year. She competed 48 routines, the most of any team member. She finished third on floor and fourth all-around at the Pac-10 Championships. She was named first-team All-Pac-10 in the all-around. In January, Jordan was named Pac-10 Event Specialist of the Week after winning bars against Stanford.
