Jessica Wang was born on June 1, 1997. She trained at Precision Gymnastics until moving to Scats Diamond Elite. She followed her coaches to Precision in the summer of 2007. She moved to Winners Gymnastics in the spring of 2011.

In 2005, Jessica competed level five. She won five gold medals at the 2nd Prelim. At the Butterfly Classic, she placed second all-around. She finished fifth all-around at East Sectionals. At the State Championships, she finished fourth all-around. She placed third on beam. In 2006, Jessica competed level six. She finished third all-around and the 1st Prelim. She placed second all-around at the 2nd Prelim and East Sectional meet. At the State Championships, she finished third on bars and fifth all-around. Jessica made the National TOPs Team as well. In 2007, she made her second National TOPs Team.

Jessica competed level eight in 2008. She won beam at the IGHOF Invitational. She finished third all-around at the Heart of a Champion Invitational. At the American Kids Cup, she won bars. Jessica finished second all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she won beam. She finished third all-around. She made her third National TOPs Team in the fall. Jessica moved up to level nine in 2009. She won beam and floor at the Surf City Classic. She finished second all-around at the AOGC Invitational. She won five gold medals at the Long Beach Open. At the Glider Invitational, she finished third all-around. She placed in the top ten at the State and Regional Championships. She later qualified to junior pre-elite, placing third at the US Challenge. In December, Jessica was named to the National Team Training Squad.

In 2010, Jessica finished first on vault as a level ten at the San Diego Classic. She focused on competing elite. In June, she qualified to the Visa Championships.
