Jaclyn Kantecki was born on April 1, 1991 to Ron and Lynne. She trained at Bedford Park Blazers for several years. She moved to Aerial Gymnastics from the summer of 2003 until the summer of 2008. She then followed her coach, Jiani Wu, to Naperville.
In 2003, Jacyln competed level eight. She competed at the State Championships. She continued competing level eight in 2004. She finished second on beam and third on floor at the Regional Championships. She moved up to level nine in 2005. She finished sixth all-around at States. Jaclyn qualified for Easterns at Regionals. She only competed two events. She did not compete in 2006. She returned strongly in 2007 as a level ten. She finished fifth all-around at the Midwest Open. At Regionals, she placed fourth all-around. She also finished second on bars and floor. She ended her season with a top twenty-five finish at JO Nationals.
Jaclyn had strong results in 2008. She placed second all-around at the IGI Chicago Style. At the State Championships, she won floor. She finished fourth on vault at Regionals. At JO Nationals, she placed eighth all-around. She finished in the top ten on bars and floor. In 2010, she placed second all-around at the Twistars Invitational. She won beam and the all-around at the Bravo Classic. Jaclyn placed third at both the IGI Chicago Style and Flip'r meet. At the Arena Classic, she won beam and floor. She won vault and floor at the State Championships. At Regionals, she placed second on vault, beam and in the all-around. She ended her club career at JO Nationals, placing fifth all-around and third on vault. She also placed in the top ten on bars and beam.
She had a solid season as a freshman at Illinois in 2010. She hit twenty five routines and recorded seven top-five finishes. She had her scores count on vault and bars at several meets. Jaclyn won her first career title on vault against Michigan State.
