Jessica Karges was born on November 1, 1996. She began gymnastics in 1999 at Bart Conner Gymnastics Academy. She will graduate from high school in 2015.
As a level 4 gymnast in 2005, Jessica won the all-around title with a 38.125 at the State Championships. At both 2006 Level 5 State Championships and 2007 Level 6 State Championships, she finished third in the all-around. In 2008, she placed fifth in the all-around with a 38.150 at the Level 7 State Championships. That same year, she qualified to the All State Team for the 2008 Judges Cup hosted in San Diego, CA where she finished fifth with the team and won a bronze medal on uneven bars in the 11-year-old age division. As a level 8 gymnast in 2009, she placed third in the all-around with a 37.300 at the State Championships. This qualified her to the Level 8 Regionals where she finished 18th overall and third on balance beam.
Jessica began competing level 9 during the 2009-2010 season. She finished fourth in the all-around and second on floor exercise at the Trojan Classic. At the new Year Invitational, she won a silver medal on floor exercise and finished fifth in the all-around. She traveled to Las Vegas, NV for the Vegas Cup where she placed third in the all-around and first on balance beam and floor exercise. Jessica finished fifth overall at the Nadia Comaneci Invitational and tenth in the all-around at the Charleston Cup. At the Level 9 State Championships, she earned bronze medal on uneven bars, balance beam, floor exercise and in the all-around. She concluded her season at the Level 9 Regionals where she placed 14th in the all-around and tenth on floor exercise with a 9.400.
In 2011 as a second-year level 9, she started her season at the Trojan Classic finishing second in the all-around and first on balance beam. At the Nadia Comaneci Invitational, she placed third in the all-around and second on vault and balance beam. Jessica won the floor exercise and all-around titles at the Classic Rock Invitational. At the Level 9 State Championships, she earned gold medals on uneven bars, balance beam, floor exercise and in the all-around with a 37.300. She qualified to the Level 9 Western Nationals after finishing eighth in the all-around as well as sixth on balance beam and floor exercise at the Level 9 Regionals. At the Western Nationals in San Diego, CA, she finished 15th in the all-around and 18th on uneven bars.
