Kareen Ariana Kaveh was born on May 21, 1990. She is the daugher of Amir and Carmen Kaveh. She graduated from Magruder High School in 2008. She trains at Hill's Gymnastics in Maryland. She was a 1998, 1999 and 2001 TOPS National Team Member. Kareen competed level nine in 2001 and 2002. At the 2001 Maryland State Championships she finished second all-around and first on bars and beam.
She moved up to level ten in 2003. She finished third all-around and first on vault at States. Her next meet was Regionals. She finished fifth all-around and first on floor. By placing in the top seven, Kareen qualified to the JO National Championships. Kareen had a decent meet at JO Nationals. In 2004, she competed junior pre-elite and level ten. She competed at the American Challenge. As a level ten, she finished first in the all-around, vault, bars and beam competitions at the Maryland State Championships. At Regionals, she finished first all-around, first on vault and first on bars. Kareen finished fourth on vault at the JO National Championships. In 2005, she won all the events at Regionals except for floor. At JO Nationals, she finished tenth all-around. Kareen qualified to her fourth JO Nationals in 2006. She finished seventh all-around. She was also named Maryland's Most Outstanding Level 10 Gymnast.
In 2007, she finished fifth place all-around at JO Nationals. She finished third on beam and fifth on floor. Kareen won the regional floor title. At JO Nationals, Kareen finished third on beam. She also placed fifth on floor and in the all-around. She earned a spot on the Region 7 All-Star Team. In 2008, she finished third all-around at the Parkette Invitational. She won bars. She did not compete at States. Kareen finished fourth all-around at Regionals. Her final club meet was JO Nationals. She finished fourth on beam and sixth on floor.
