Katrina Lacorte Carpenter was born on June 22, 1994 in Rockville, Maryland to Bruce and Erlinda Carpenter. She trained at Hill's Gymnastics in 2002 before moving to Gymnastics of America from 2003 to 2004. She began training at Frederick Gymnastics after the 2004 season. Katrina will graduate in 2012.
In 2002, Katrina competed level six. She moved up to level seven in 2003. She finished third on beam and first all-around at the State Championships. In 2004, Katrina won a bronze medal on bars as a level eight at the State Championships. In the fall, she made the National TOPs "B" Team. She continued competing level eight in 2005. She won bars, beam, and floor at the Parkette Invitational. In 2006, Katrina competed level nine. She finished second on bars at the Maryland Classic. She placed in the top ten at the State Championships. Katrina competed an additional year of level nine in 2007. She qualified for the Eastern Championships.
Her first season as a level ten was in 2008. Katrina finished in the top ten at States. At Regionals, she placed 14th all-around. She continued to improve in 2009. She won bars at the Frederick Classic and Manhattan Classic. She finished fourth all-around at States. Katrina had a great 2010 season. She finished in the top ten at the Maryland Classic and Magical Classic. She placed second at the Frederick Classic. She finished fourth all-around at States, winning a silver on beam. At Regionals, she placed eighth. In 2011, she won all five gold medals at the Frederick Classic. She placed second all-around at the IGI Chicago Style. At the State Championships, she placd first on vault and second all-around. She competed at Regionals where she placed second on vault.
