Kaitlyn Rene Clark was born on June 5, 1993. She trained at Precision Gymnastics through the 2003 season. She then moved to Diamond Elite Gymnastics which was also known as SCATS Diamond Bar. During the summer of 2007, her coaches moved to Precision Gymnastics where she currently trains under Trent and Jill Spaulding.
In 2000, Kaitlyn began competing. She qualified to the Level 5 State Championships. Kaitlyn competed as a level six in 2001. She finished second all-around at the Sectional Championships. She moved up to level seven in 2002. She finished second all-around and first on bars at States. By 2004, Kaitlyn was competing as a level eight. She won the Level 8 State Championships all-around, vault, bars and floor titles. At Regionals, Kaitlyn won bars and finished second all-around as well as second on floor. In 2005, Kaitlyn moved up to the ninth level of the junior olympic program. She placed second all-around at the San Diego Classic. She was third at the Surf City Classic and Friendship Challenge. At States, Kaitlyn placed second all-around and on bars and floor. At Regionals, Kaitlyn placed third on floor. She qualified to the JO National Championships.
Kaitlyn moved up to level ten in 2006. She placed third all-around at the San Diego Classic and Long Beach Open. She won four golds at the California Classic. At the Level 10 State Championships, she finished third all-around. Kaitlyn placed fourth at Regionals. At her first JO National Championships, Kaitlyn placed 11th all-around! After the level ten season, she qualified to junior international elite. Kaitlyn competed at the US Classic!
Kaitlyn competed at open invitationals in the spring of 2007. She re-qualified to junior international elite in early spring. At the US Classic, Kaitlyn qualified to the US National Championships! She had a great meet until her final tumbling pass on floor when she tripped on the chalk box and fell. Following the meet, her coaches moved to Precision Gymnastics.
She once again qualified to the international elite level in 2008 at the Parkettes Invitational where she finished third. Kaitlyn qualified to the 2008 US Classic, but sustained a knee injury at a camp before the competition. She successfully petitioned to the 2008 US Championships in June. Once there Kaitlyn went out and competed with a few watered down routines, but placed 16th all around and 4th on vault. In the fall, Kaitlyn was invited to the PAGU training camp and October National Team Training Camp. She earned another invitation in January. In 2009, Kaitlyn competed at the Metroplex Challenge. She then won vault, bars, beam and the all-around at the AOGC Invitational. In March, she won vault and floor at the Hear5 of a Champion Invitational. She again attended the National Team Camp. In June, Kaitlyn qualified to senior international elite. She qualified to the US National Championships at the US Classic. She finished tenth all-around, making the US National Team. In 2010, Kaitlyn again competed at the US National Championships. She finished ninth all-around.
