Krista Collins was born on July 1, 1997. She trained at Naperville Gymnastics in Illinois until the summer of 2005. She then moved to Southeastern Gymnastics in North Carolina. She will graduate from high school in 2015.
In 2005, she competed level four. She won vault at the Bravo Classic. Krista moved up to level five for the fall season. She finished fourth all-around at the Harvest Hoe Down. At the State Championships, she placed second on vault and third all-around. Krista competed level six in 2006. She won beam at the State Championships. She placed second all-around. In 2007, she finished third on bars at the Lady Luck Invitational. Krista competed level seven in 2008. She won beam at the Atlanta Crown Invitational. At the State Championships, she placed first on bars and second all-around.
Krista competed level eight in 2009. She finished second all-around at the Flip Fest Invitational. She placed second on bars at the Charleston Cup. She won bars and floor at the National Gymnastics Challenge. At the State Championships, she placed third all-around. At Regionals, she finished third all-around. Krista moved up to level nine in 2010. She finished second all-around at the Tampa Bay Turners Invitational. She placed second on vault at the IGI Chicago Style. Krista finished fifth all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she placed second on floor.
She continued competing level nine in 2011. Krista finished third all-around at the Tampa Bay Turners Invitational. She won bars and the all-around at the Metroplex Challenge. At the Sweetheart Invite, she won vault, floor and the all-around. Krista finished third all-around at the National Gymnastics Challenge. At the State Championships, she placed first on vault. Krista finished first on vault, second on bars, third on floor and third all-around at Regionals.
