Sydney Kennedy was born on June 29, 1995. She trained at Diamond Gymnastics in Kansas through the 2006 season. She then moved to GAGE. Sydney began training at Eagles in February of 2010. She will graduate from high school in 2013.

In 2006, Sydney competed level eight. She placed second on vault at the GymQuarters Invite. She qualified to Regionals. She finished fourth on vault and tenth all-around. She continued competing level eight in 2007. Sydney finished second all-around at the State Championships. She won bars at Regionals. Sydney moved up to level nine in 2009. She finished second on floor at the IGHOF Invitational. At Westerns, she placed eighth all-around.

Sydney began competing level ten in 2009. She finished seventh all-around at Regionals. She competed at JO Nationals. In 2010, Sydney placed second on beam at the Northern Lights Invitational. She finished third on vault and bars at the State Championships. At Regionals, she placed in the top fifteen.
