Taylor Keough was born on December 5, 1997. She has two younger sisters: Kristen is a competitive cheerleader and Lauren plays soccer and basketball. Taylor currently trains at Phantom Gymnastics in New Hampshire where she is coached by Cathie Lowell and Tammy Kozlowski. She attends high school in Massachusetts and will graduate in 2014.

In 2006, Taylor competed for Yellow Jackets as a level five. She finished third on vault and fourth all-around at the State Championships. She moved up to level six in the fall. She finished in the top ten at the State Championships. In 2007, Taylor finished first on beam and second all-around at the American Flyers Cup. She competed level seven in 2008 for Brestyan's Gymnastics. Taylor placed in the top ten at the State Championships. She moved up to level eight in 2009. She finished third on bars at the Brestyan's Invitational. She finished in the top twenty at the State Championships.

Taylor continued competing level eight in 2010 for Legends Gymnastics. She won bars at the Bay State Classic. She finished first on vault and bars at the Tim Daggett Invitational. At the Pink Invitational, she won bars. Taylor placed first on bars at the Starlight Invitational. She finished fourth on bars at the State Championships. At Regionals, she won vault, bars and the all-around. Taylor moved to Phantom Gymnastics for the 2011 season. She finished third on beam at the Northeast Invite. She won bars at the Little Bigger Invitational. At the Hip Hop Classic, she finished third all-around. Taylor also placed third all-around at the Exxcel Beach Party. At Regionals, she placed second on bars.
