Kaitlin Green was born to Charles and Laura Green on January 30, 1997. She began gymnastics at the age of two. She trains at LaFleur's Gymnastics Club of Largo under Laura and David Parraga.

Kaitlin competed Level 4 in 2004. She won bars at States. In 2005, she moved up to level five. She finished third all-around and second on bars at the Aloha Invitational. At States, she won beam. A few months later in 2006 she began competing as a level seven. Kaitlin finished second on bars and beam at the Gasparilla Classic. She won a bronze medal on bars at the Battle of Champions. At the Lightning City Invitational, Kaitlin won the all-around, beam and floor titles. At States, she finished second in the all-around. She won bars!

In 2007, Kaitlin competed level eight. She finished second all-around at the Sand Dollar Invitational. At the Lightning City Invitational she won bars, beam, floor and the all-around title. She finished second on bars. At States, she won vault, bars, beam and the all-around. She finished second on floor. This qualified her for Regionals where she won beam. Kaitlin competed level nine in 2008. She won the all-around at the Tampa Bay Classic, Daytona Beach Open and Charleston Cup. She won floor at Regionals. She qualified to Easterns, the highest meet a level nine can attend. She finished sixth all-around! Kaitlin also participated in the pre-elite program. She finished eighth overall at the US Challenge in the hopes division.

She moved up to level ten in 2009. At the Hilton Head Island Invitational, she won beam. She qualified to hopes at the Denver Winterfest. At the California Classic, she won beam and the all-around. She finished third on bars at the Tampa Bay Turners Invitational. At States, she finished third on bars and second on beam. She placed second all-around. She won beam at Regionals. She also finished fourth all-around. Her final level ten meet of the season was JO Nationals. She finished second on beam! In July, Kaitlin won balance beam at the US Challenge.
