Brittany Kinal was born on May 28, 1993. She has an older sister, Julie, who is a level ten gymnast. She received a full ride to the University of Minnesota. Brittany is the daughter of Sydney and Ed. She trained at Parkettes Gymnastics and Sunburst Gymnastics before her family moved west. In 2001, she made the TOPs Gold Level Team. She has trained at Carter's Gymnastics in Arizona since 2002.

Brittany saw her first level six competition in 2002. She won the all-around title at the Arizona State Championships. In 2003, she competed as a level seven. Brittany did well at the WOGA Classic and Shamrock Invite. She ended her season by placing third all-around and first on bars at the Arizona Level 7 State Championships. In 2004, Brittany won the WOGA Classic as a level eight. She then moved up to the ninth level of the Junior Olympic program. Brittany immediately found success. She won the all-around title at the Winter Classic, Sweetheart Invite and California Classic. At the Regional Championships, she took home the all-around and bars gold! Brittany finished her season off with a top twenty performance at Westerns.

In 2005, Brittany moved up to level ten. She won the Surf City Classic and swept the gold medals at the Arizona State Championships. At Regionals, she finished fifth. This qualified her for the JO National Championships. The meet, which was hosted in California, has several of the nation's top gymnasts. Brittany placed on beam! During the 2006 season, she struggled with injuries. She came back to take the last spot for JO Nationals at Regionals. At the JO National Championships, Brittany placed 14th all-around!

Brittany has been a member of the USAG TOPS Program. She was a 2001 Gold Team Member when she trained at Parkettes as an eight year old. In 2003, Brittany was named to the National A Team! In 2004, Brittany was a member of the B Team. During the year Brittany competed as a TOPS Elite. She finished fifth at the American Challenge. She also competed at the US Challenge. In 2005, Brittany competed at the US Challenge as well. In 2007, she qualified to junior pre-elite. She finished seventh overall at the US Challenge. She placed third on beam.

She missed most of 2007 because of an injury. She finished third all-around at States. She earned a spot at JO Nationals after finishing eighth all-around at Regionals. She placed second on bars. At JO Nationals, she finished ninth all-around. She also placed in the top ten on bars. In 2008, Brittany finished tenth all-around at Regionals.

Brittany had a successful season in 2009. She won bars and finished third all-around at the Parkettes Invitational. Brittany placed third all-around at the California Classic. She finished second on beam, floor and the all-around at States. She won uneven bars. At Regionals, she finished sixth all-around. Brittany had a rough bar routine at JO Nationals. The highlight of the meet was her third place finish on floor. In the fall, Brittany committed to the University of Washington! She will begin college in the fall of 2011.
