Alyssa Kitasoe was born on February 10, 1987. Her mom's name is Mona. She trained at Airborne Gymnastics during her club career.
In 2000, Alyssa competed as a level ten. She won the San Diego Classic all-around title. In 2001, she won bars, beam and the all-around title at the State Championships. At Regionals, Alyssa finished first on bars. Her final meet of the season was the JO National Championships. In 2002, Alyssa qualified to her second JO National Championships. She finished fourteenth all-around and sixth on beam. In 2003, she finished second all-around at States. She also won beam and bars.
Alyssa competed as a level ten in 2004. She did not have a very good season. Her senior year was in 2005. She only competed one event at the Level 10 State Championships. She walked on to the UCLA team and competed on vault and beam for one season.
