Amberly Noelle Klein was born to Greg and Nancy in Cincinnati, Ohio on January 2, 1984. She has one brother, Keith and two sisters, Kelly and Caitlyn. She attended Cincinnati Gymnastics Academy. She qualified to Regionals as a level ten.

As a freshman in 2003, she was the MPSF balance beam champion. She also won beam against Sacramento State and Cal State Fullerton. As a sophomore, she was her second MPSF balance beam title. She competed at the NCAA West Regional Championships on beam. She performed on vault, beam and floor regularly through the season. As a junior, she competed on beam and floor at every meet. She finished her senior year in 2006.
