Kaylee McDowell was born on January 5, 1997. She trains at Gedderts' Twistars. She will graduate from high school in 2015.

In 2007, Kaylee competed level five at the IGI Chicago Style. She competed level six in 2008. She won the all-around at the Battle of Champions. She again won the all-around at the Twistars Invitational. She then moved up to level seven. She finished second all-around at the For Love or Money meet and third all-around at the Motown Madness. Kaylee won bars, floor and the all-around at the State Championships.

Kaylee competed level eight in 2009. She finished third all-around at the US Airborne Invitational. She only competed on bars at the State Championships. She competed on bars, beam and floor at Regionals. In 2010, Kaylee won bars, beam, floor and the all-around at the Twistars Invitational. She won beam, floor and the all-around at the For Love or Money meet. Kaylee also won the all-around at the Wolverine Classic. She finished first on bars, beam, floor and the all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she placed first all-around! She also finished third on bars, beam and floor.
