Kimberly McRobbie was born on August 13, 1993. Kim has a younger sister, Rebecca, who is also a gymnast. Kim trained at Aerial Works Gymnastic in 2001. She moved to Metroplex where she trained until 2008. Currently, Kim trains at WOGA under Yevgeny Marchenko and Laurie Dix.
In 2001, Kim began competing level five. She won beam and floor at the Rising Stars Invitational. She finished second all-around. In 2002, she won bars at States. She finished third all-around at the 2003 WOGA Classic. She began competing level seven in 2004. She won floor at the WOGA Classic and Texas State Championships. In 2005, she won floor at the WOGA Classic on the way to finishing second all-around. Kim moved up to level eight in 2006. She finished second on beam at the Kurt Thomas Invitational.
She competed level eight again in 2007. She won the all-around at the Metroplex Challenge. At the WOGA Classic, she won bars, beam and floor. Kim finished second all-around at the Wild About Gymnastics meet. At the California Classic, she won bars, beam and the all-around. At the State Championships, she won floor and finished second all-around. She ended her season with a third place finish at Regionals. She won uneven bars.
Kim began competing level nine in 2008. She finished third on bars and beam at the TWU State Qualifier. At the Metroplex Challenge, she won beam. She placed fifth on beam at States. At Regionals, she placed sixth all-around. She ended her season at Westerns. Kim moved up to level ten in 2009. She placed fourth all-around at the WOGA Classic. She competed at States and Regionals. In 2010, Kim finished second all-around at the Pikes Peak CUp. She also placed second all-around at the Houston National Invitational. She placed in the top ten at both the State and Regional Championships.
