Keely Kmieciak was born on July 4, 1994 to Gary and Marti. She has three sisters: Lauren, Lia and Nicole. Nicole is a diver for Ball State. Keely trains at Phenom Gymnastics. She will graduate in 2012.

In 2002, Keely began competing as a level five. In November of 2003, Keely won a silver medal at the Judges Cup as a level seven. She immediately moved into level eight competition in 2004. SHe qualified for Regionals, placing in the top fifteen. In 2005, Keely began competing level nine. She finished second all-around at the Bravo Classic. She placed in the top ten at States and Regionals. She also competed at Easterns.

She continued competing level nine in 2006. She placed second all-around at Regionals. At Easterns, she finished sixth all-around and third on vault. Keely moved up to level ten in 2007. She won the For Love or Money meet. At Regionals, she placed second on vault. Keely ended her season with a top twenty performance at JO Nationals. She continued to have strong results in 2008 as a level ten. She won silver medals on beam at the For Love or Money meet and Cupid's Twist. At the State Championships, Keely won the all-around. She was the second alternate for JO Nationals.

Keely had a record-setting year in 2009. She won the all-around at the Bravo Classic and Midwest Open. She swept the gold medals at the For Love or Money meet and Midwest Open. At Regionals, she won vault, bars and the all-around. Her all-around total was the highest in the region, earning her a spot on the Region All-Star Team. At JO Nationals, Keely became the first athlete to sweep the gold medals after winning all four events and the all-around. Following this feat, she was named Region 5 JO Athlete of the Year.

In 2010, Keely opened her season by scoring a perfect ten on vault at the Bravo Classic. She then finished second at the Metroplex Challenge and For Love or Money meet. She won five gold medals at the Big Dream Classic. At State, she won vault and placed fourth all-around. Keely won vault, beam, floor and the all-around. Despite being ailed by an illness at JO Nationals, she still placed in the top ten on vault, bars and floor.
