Katy Nogaki was born on March 5, 1994. Her younger sister, Kristin, was also a gymnast. Katy formerly trained at Kips Gymnastics. She moved to Gym-Max in 2004. Both sisters moved to Wildfire in the spring of 2010. Katy will graduate from high school in 2012.

In 2003, Katy competed level five. She finished third on vault at the State Championships. She placed sixth all-around. Katy competed level six in 2004. She placed second all-around at the Sectional Championships. She won beam. At the State Team Championships, she finished fourth on bars and fifth all-around. She moved up to level seven for the 2005 season. She placed first all-around. She finished second on bars, beam and floor. Katy began competing level eight in 2006. She won bars and the all-around at the San Diego Classic. Katy won vault, beam, floor and the all-around at the Surf City Classic. She placed third all-around at the Long Beach Open. At the State Championships, Katy won vault, bars, floor and the all-around. She ended her season at Regionals, winning vault and bars. She placed third all-around.

Katy began competing level nine in 2007. She won bars at the LA Classic. She won vault and bars at the State Championships. She placed second all-around. At Regionals, she won vault, beam and the all-around. At the Western Championships, she finished first on beam, second on vault and third all-around. In 2010, Katy competed level ten. She placed fourth all-around at the Long Beach Open. She finished twelfth at the State Championships. Katy competed on vault and bars at Regionals. In 2011, Katy finished first on vault and beam at the San Diego Classic. She won vault at the Gliders Invitational and California Classic. At the State Championships, she placed first on vault and third all-around. Katy finished third on vault and eighth all-around at Regionals. At the JO National Invitatioanl Tournament, she won vault!
