Mackenzie Knox was born on June 7, 1999. She trains at Gymnastics World in Ohio. She will graduate from high school in 2017.

In 2008, Mackenzie competed level five. She won floor at the Tiki Classic. At the State Championships, she won all five gold medals. She competed level six in early 2009, with Buckeye Gymnastics. She finished second on bars at the CGA Coaches Spectacular. She won beam at the Buckeye Classic. She also competed level seven at the Buckeye Classic, finishing third all-around. She made the National TOPs "B" Team later that fall.

Mackenzie competed level eight in 2010. She won floor and finished second all-around at the National Judges Cup. She finished third at the Twistars Invitational. She won beam at the Luau in Leos. Mackenzie finished second on beam at the Queen City Classic and second on bars at the Arnold Challenge. At the State Championships, she finished fourth all-around. Mackenzie placed 13th all-around at Regionals out of 48. She finished in the top ten on beam and floor. In 2011, Mackenzie competed level nine. She finished second all-around and first on beam at the Rock-n-Roll Classic. She finished first on floor at the Nashville nights meet. Mackenzie finished in the top ten at the State Championships. At Regionals, she placed fifth on beam and fourth on floor.
