Danielle Kovaltchouk was born on March 23, 1995. She trained at Flips USA Gymnastics through the 2006 season. She then moved to Deltchev Gymnastics Academy. A member of the highly prestigious International Baccalaureate program, Danielle will graduate from high school in 2013.

In 2004, Danielle competed level five. She won beam and floor at the Flips USA Invitational. She finished third all-around at the State Championships. She competed level six in the fall season. She continued competing level six in 2005. She finished fourth all-around at the Flips USA Invitational. Danielle won bars and the all-around at the San Diego Classic. She won vault, bars, beam and the all-around at the Gold Medal Invitational. She finished third all-around at the State Championships.

Danielle competed level seven in 2006. She finished second all-around at the Flips USA invitational. She placed third all-around at the Hard Rock Invitational. She won vault and bars at the Long Beach Open. Danielle swept the gold medals at the Spirit of the Flame Challenge. At the State Championships, she placed second all-around. Danielle moved up to level eight in 2007. She won bars, floor and the all-around at the Flips USA Invitational. She finished second all-around at the San Diego Classic. At the State Championships, she won beam and the all-around. She won bars at Regionals. She finished second all-around.

She began competing level nine in 2008. She won floor at the Golden State Classic. At the State Championships, she won beam and placed second all-around. Danielle also won beam and finished second all-around at Regionals. At Westerns, she placed first on floor! She also finished fourth on beam and ninth all-around. In 2009, Danielle won bars and floor at the Hard Rock Invitational. She won bars, beam, floor and the all-around at the Spirit of the Flame Challenge. Danielle won vault, bars, floor and the all-around at the Byers Invitational. At the State Championships, she won floor. She finished third all-around. Danielle won floor and the all-around at Regionals. At Westerns, she placed third on vault, first on bars, second on floor and second all-around.

In 2010, Danielle began competing level ten. She finished second on floor at the Roseville Invitational. She won vault, bars, beam and the all-around at the Great West Gym Fest. She finished second all-around at the Spirit of the Flame Challenge. At the State Championships, Danielle won floor. She finished second all-around. Danielle placed third on vault and fourth all-around at Regionals. At JO Nationals, she finished 22nd all-around.
