Jill Kowalski was born on July 1, 1986. She is the daughter of Peter and Sandra Kowalski. She competed for Midwest Gymnastics during her club career.
She finished second all-around at the 2004 Illinois States. She won all-around titles at the Buckeye Classic and Bravo Classic.
As a freshman at Kent State, she competed in twelve meets on bars and beam. She earned six top-ten finishes on bars. As a sophomore, she was a first team All-MAC honoree. She participated in all eleven meets. She competed in the all-around. She earned three first place finishes in the all-around. Jill was on MAC Best list for bars. She was named athlete of the week and competed at the NCAA Regional Championships.
During her junior year, she competed all-around in eleven meets. She won the all-around six times. She was named MAC Gymnast of the Week twice in February. She qualified for the NCAA Championships in the all-around. During her senior year, she was named MAC Gymnast of the Week twice. She won beam and bars against Eastern Michigan.
