Kassidy Kozai was born on September 17, 1991. She trained at Gymnastics Olympica before moving to All Olympia Gymnastics Center. She graduated from high school in 2010.

In 2001, Kassidy competed level five. She finished third on beam at the State Championships. She moved up to level eight in 2004. She placed second on bars at the State Championships. At Regionals, she finished third on beam and sixth all-around. She competed one level nine meet in 2005, winning bars and floor at the San Diego Classic. She then moved up to level ten. Kassidy won beam, floor and the all-around at the State Championships. She placed third on floor and fifth all-around at Regionals. At JO Nationals, Kassidy placed second on beam. She finished 16th all-around.

Kassidy did not compete in 2006. In 2007, she competed at the Byers Invitational. She finished first on beam and third all-around at the State Championships. She competed at Regionals. In 2008, Kassidy finished second on vault and floor at the Friendship Challenge. She did not compete in the championship season. Kassidy missed the 2009 season due to injury. In 2010, Kassidy finished third on vault and beam at the AOGC Invitational. She placed first on bars and second all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she won bars. She finished third all-around. She competed at JO Nationals. She did not competed as a freshman at UCLA in 2011 due to injuries.
