Kayla Williams was born on May 8, 1993. Kayla will graduate from high school in 2011. She trained at Bozhi's Gym Nest in West Virginia under Hrabrina Spencer and Bozhi Russer. She moved to Cincinnati Gymnastics in the spring of 2010.
In 2002, Kayla competed level seven. She finished eighth all-around at the Coed Classic. She competed level nine in 2004. She finished fourth on vault at the Flytz USA Invitational. At the Regional Championships, she placed fourth on beam and 14th all-around. She repeated level nine in 2005. At the Buckeye Classic, she won beam and placed second on vault. Kayla won vault at Regionals. She finished third all-around. She ended her season at Easterns.
Kayla moved up to level ten in 2006. She finished in the top seven all-around at Regionals, qualifying for JO Nationals. In December, she won vault, floor and the all-around at the Big Dog Invitational. She started 2007 by winning beam, floor and the all-around at the Parkette Invitational. At JO Nationals, she won beam. She finished seventh all-around. In December, she won vault, bars, floor and the all-around at the Big Dog Invitational.
She had a great 2008 season. At the IGI Chicago Style, she won vault, floor and the all-around. She then won vault, bars, floor and the all-around at the National Gymnastics Challenge. Kayla won vault, beam, floor and the all-around at States. At Regionals, she won vault, bars, and the all-around. She ended her season at JO Nationals. She finished third on vault, second on floor and second all-around. Kayla made her first JO National Team. She swept the gold medals at the Big Dog Invitational in December.
In 2009, Kayla opened the year by winning vault and placing third all-around at the Twistars Invitational. At the Maryland Classic, she won vault, beam and the all-around. She won vault, bars, beam and the all-around at the Arnold Gymnastics Challenge. At States, she swept the gold medals. Kayla won vault, beam, floor and the all-around at Regionals. At JO Nationals, she won vault, floor and the all-around. She placed second on beam. A few weeks later she qualified to senior international elite at the Parkette Elite Qualifier. At the US Classic, she won vault and floor. Kayla qualified for the US National Championships. She finished first on vault at the US National Championships. She finished sixth all-around, making the National Team. Kayla then qualified to the World Championship Team. She won the vault gold medal!
