Lauren Alexander was born on July 8, 1992 to Paul and Lisa Alexander. She trained at Infinite Bounds Gymnastics under Cindy Dove and Todd Wayts from 1996 to 2009. Lauren competed her senior year for Metroplex Gymnastics under Jaycie Phelps and Dave Marcus.
In the fall of 2001, Lauren competed level six. She won beam and floor at the Conoco Phillips Invitational. She continued level six in the early part of January before moving up to level seven in 2002. Lauren finished second on vault at the Sand Dollar Invitational. She won beam at the Conoco Phillips Invitational and bars at the Saint Nick meet to conclude her 2002 competitions. She continued to have strong results as a level seven in 2003. Lauren won bars, floor and the all-around at the New Year Invitational. She again won the all-around at the DGC Invitational. She placed second at the Krafft Friendship Cup and third at the Nadia Invitational. At the North State Championships, she finished second all-around. Lauren ended her season by winning beam and the all-around at the State Championships!
Lauren moved up to level eight for the 2003-2004 season. In December, she won beam and floor at the HUGS Winter Warm-Up. Lauren won floor at the 2004 New Year Invitational. She placed third on beam at the Metroplex Challenge. At the Yellow Rose Classic, she won vault, beam, floor and the all-around. She finished second on beam and third on floor at the State Championships. Lauren ended her season by placing in the top ten at Regionals. She competed a few level eight meets in 2005, winning bars at the Cancun Classic.
She began competing level nine in the fall of 2005. She won vault at the Conoco Phillips Invitational and floor at the Candy Cane Classic. At the Metroplex Challenge, she finished second all-around. Lauren won the all-around at the Kurt Thomas Invitational. At States, she finished third all-around. She also placed third at Regionals. She ended her season by placing second all-around at Westerns. She also won beam and finished second on floor.
Lauren found immediate success as a level ten in 2007. She placed third all-around at the WOGA Classic. She won the Heart of Texas meet. At the State Championships, she finished second all-around! She also placed second all-around at Regionals. She ended her season by placing tenth all-around at JO Nationals! Lauren placed in the top ten on vault, beam and floor.
She continued to have strong results in 2008. Lauren finished second all-around at the Metroplex Challenge and WOGA Classic. She won beam and vault at both meets. At the Yellow Rose Classic, she won vault, floor and the all-around. Lauren finished third all-around at States. She won beam at Regionals and qualified for her second JO Nationals. Lauren placed second on vault! Lauren competed at a few meets in January of 2009. In November, she signed with the University of Oklahoma! She did not compete in 2010. She trained with the Oklahoma team for one semester in the fall of 2010 before deciding to retire from gymnastics.
