Yuki Lamb was born in Gulfport, Mississippi on July 11, 1986. She is the daughter of Mieko and Frank Lamb. She has a younger sister, Mariko. She graduated from Karns High School in 2004. Yuki grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee. She trained at Knoxville Gymnastics and then later Premier.
In 2001, Yuki competed as a level ten. She finished second all-around at Regionals. At the JO National Championships, she finished twelfth all-around. In 2002, Yuki won the Tennessee State Championships. She won the event again in 2003. She also won Regionals in 2003. At the JO National Championships, Yuki placed seventh all-around. In 2004, she won her third Tennessee State Title! She finished second on vault at Regionals. Yuki placed seventh all-around again at JO Nationals.
Yuki began attending Oregon State in the fall of 2004. She sprained her ankles just prior to the season. This kept her out of the first three meets. She came into the vault and floor lineups right away. She earned NACGC/W Scholastic All-American honors. Her only missed routine came when she crashed out-of-bounds on floor. As a sophomore, she dislocated her elbow two days before Thanksgiving. Less than three months later, she competed on beam to score a 9.8. She soon regained her spot on vault. Yuki was selected as a 2006 Pac-10 All-Academic Second Team member.
As a junior, she competed on vault and floor. She exhibitioned on beam. She competed on vault, beam and floor as a senior setting career highs on all three events. She was on the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America women’s at-large third team. Yuki earned All-American honors on vault. She caputred four individual titles. She was a Pac-10 All-Academic first team member.
