Alicia Lenkiewicz was born in San Diego, California, on August 8, 1987. She is the daughter of Lance and Lauri Lenkiewicz. Her hometown is Littleton, Colorado. She has two brothers, Brad and James. She attended Chatfield Senior High in Littleton, Colorado. Alicia trained at JET Gymnastics under J.A. and Emily Dominguez during her club career. She began gymnastics at the age of six.

As a club gymnast, Alicia competed as a level ten. She qualified to Regionals eight years in a row. She won the Colorado state title on beam and bars. At the 2005 JO National Championships, she finished fourteenth all-around. She won vault at the High School State Championships. Alicia was the alternate to JO Nationals in 2004.

As a freshman at Auburn, she was named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll. She competed on beam throughout the season. She scored well at several meets. Alicia continued competing on bars and beam in 2007.
