Alexa Leo was born on April 11, 1994. She began gymnastics at the age of three. She trained at Odyssey Gymnastics in 2005. She has trained at Dutchess County Gymnastics in New York since 2007. She will graduate from high school in 2012.

In 2005, Alexa competed level six. She competed at the State Championships. Alexa competed level seven in 2008. She competed at the Empire State Games for the Hudson Valley. Alexa finished second within her team. She moved up to level eight for the 2008-2009 season. She finished in the top ten all-around at the Big Apple Holiday Classic. In January, she finished in the top fifteen at the Leatherstocking Invitational. She finished second on bars at the I Love NY Cup. Alexa placed in the top twenty at the State Championships. She moved up to level nine in 2010. She finished second on beam at the I Love NY Cup. Alexa continued competing level nine in 2011. She competed at the State Championships. Alexa competed for the Carmel Varsity Gymnastics Team from seventh to ninth grade. She earned many Section 1 Awards including All-Section and Honorale Mention.
