Jessica Ling was born on March 11, 1997. She has two younger sisters who also compete in gymnastics. Jessica trains at Oakland Gymnastics in Michigan. She will graduate from high school in 2015.

In 2007, Jessica competed level seven. She finished fifth all-around at the Motown Madness meet. At the State Championships, . Jessica moved up to level eight in 2008. She finished in the top ten at the Twistars Invitational. In 2009, Jessica won vault and bars at the CGA Coaches Spectacular. She won vault at the For Love or Money meet. At the Wolverine Classic, she won vault, bars and the all-around. Jessica finished fourth all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she finished third on vault and the all-around.

Jessica began competing level nine in 2010. She finished first on vault and third all-around at the CGA Coaches Spectacular. She finished third on vault at the San Diego Classic. At the IGI Chicago Style, she placed second all-around. She won bars at the Circle of Stars meet. At the State Championships, she finished first on vault and second all-around. Jessica finished third all-around at Regionals. At Easterns, she placed third on bars. She finished eighth all-around. In 2011, Jessica won all five gold medals at the CGA Coaches Spectacular. At the Circle of Stars meet, she won vault, bars, floor and the all-around. At the Athlete Warrior Challenge, she won bars, beam and the all-around. At the Presidential Classic, she won bars and floor. She finished first on vault, bars, floor and the all-around at the Motown Madness meet. She finished second all-around and first on bars at the State Championships. At Regionals, she won vault, bars and the all-around. Jessica placed second on vault and fourth on bars at Easterns.

She began competing level ten during the 2010-2011 season. She finished second on bars and floor at the Gymnastics in the Grand meet.
