Kristen Linton was born on May 17, 1989. She trained at Seattle Gymnastics Academy during her club Career. Kristen graduated from high school in 2007.
Kristen made the National TOPs Team in 1999 and 2000. In 2011, she placed first on bars at the Harbor Classic as a level nine. She moved up to level ten in 2002. She finished first on floor and third all-around at Regionals. Kristen competed at JO Nationals. In 2003, she placed ninth on bars and 15th all-around at JO Nationals. Kristen finished in the top ten all-around at the State Championship. She was limited by injuries in 2005 and 2006. She placed second on beam at the 2006 Long Beach Open. She competed at JO Nationals. In 2007, Kristen placed seventh on beam and 28th all-around at JO Nationals.
After joining the Washington team as a walk-on in 2008, Kristen competed in all thirteen meets for the Huskies. She competed in the all-around nine times. Kristen won bars and beam against Cal. She won bars and the all-around against Seattle Pacific. Kristen finished in the top three twelve times. She earned a scholarship for her sophomore year. Kristen competed in eleven of twelve meets in 2009. She won three bars titles and one beam title. Kristen was named to the All-Pac-10 All-Academic Team.
During her junior season in 2010, Kristen competed in the all-around against Utah. She won floor against Arizona State. Kristen finished first on bars and floor against Cal. She also won bars against Arizona and floor against SPU. At the NCAA Regional Championships, she placed first on floor. She competed on floor at the NCAA Championships. Kristen was a member of the Pac-10 All-Academic Second-Team. As a senior, Kristen won five event times. She won floor against Cal and against Oklahoma. She won floor at SPU, Oregon State and against the Air Force Academy. Kristen earned All-Pac-10 second-team honors on floor. She earned first-team All-Academic honors.
