Lashlee Morris was born on January 4, 1989. She trained at Brandy Johnson's Global Gymnastics Academy. She graduated from high school in 2007.

In 1999, Lashlee competed level six. She placed second on bars and floor at the Atlanta Crown Invitational. She competed level eight in 2000. She finished eleventh all-around at Regionals. Lashlee moved up to level nine in 2001. She competed at Regionals. In 2002, she placed third on beam and fifth all-around at Regionals. She finished 25th all-around at Easterns.

Lashlee moved up to level ten in 2003. She finished eleventh all-around at the State Championships. In 2004, she finished in the top fifteen all-around at Regionals. Lashlee placed in the top twenty all-around at Regionals in 2005. In 2006, she won bars at Regionals. She placed fifth all-around. She finished seventh on beam at JO Nationals. In 2007, Lashlee won the all-around title at Regionals. She finished 19th all-around at JO Nationals.

As a freshman at Illinois in 2008, Lashlee competed on beam in twelve of thirteen meets. She also saw action on bars and floor. Lashlee finished third on beam at the State of Illinois Classic. In 2009, she competed on beam in twelve of fourteen meets. She competed on floor three times and on vault twice. Lashlee placed second on beam at the Michigan State Quad meet. She was an Academic All-Big Ten selection. In 2010, Lashlee competed on beam three times. She exhibitioned on beam four times and on floor two times. She was an Academic All-Big Ten honoree.
