Katherine Locher was born on October 15, 1995. She trained at Newport News Flipateers through the 2005 season. She then moved to World Class Gymnastics. She will graduate from high school in 2014.

In 2004, Katherine competed level four. She placed in the top twenty at the State Championships. She repeated this feat the next year as a level five. She competed level seven in 2006. She finished fourth at the Charleston Cup. She placed second on beam at the Maryland Classic. At the State Championships, Katherine placed fourth all-around and third on floor. She moved up to level eight in 2007. Katherine finished second on bars at the State Championships. She finished third at Regionals.

Katherine competed level nine in 2008. She won bars at the AOGC Invitational. She won bars, beam and the all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she placed first on bars and third all-around. Katherine finished seventh all-around and fourth on bars at Easterns. She began competing level ten in 2009. She won bars at the Gymnastics in Paradise meet. Katherine finished third at the Parkette Invitational. She won vault, bars, beam and the all-around at the State Championships. She won bars at Regionals. Katherine placed tenth on beam at JO Nationals.

She continued competing level ten in 2010. She won vault, bars and the all-around at the Sand Dollar Invitational. She finished second all-around at the Metroplex Challenge. She finished fifth all-around at the State Championships. She did not compete at Regionals.
