Mary Beth Lofgren was born on July 3, 1992. She trained at Olympus School of Gymnastics during her club career. She graduated from high school in 2010.

In 2003, Mary Beth competed level nine. She won vault at the State Championships. She finished second all-around. She placed in the top twenty at Regionals. In 2004, she finished second all-around at the State Championships. She finished seventh all-around at Regionals. At Westerns, Mary Beth placed eighth all-around. She moved up to level ten in 2005. She finished third on bars at the California Classic. She won floor and the all-around at the Shamrock Invitational. Mary Beth finished first on bars, beam and the all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she placed third all-around. She finished 22nd all-around at JO Nationals, helping the Region 1 Team to first place.

She continued competing level ten in 2006. She won bars, beam and the all-around at the Long Beach Open. She finished second all-around at the Spirit of the Flame Challenge. She only competed on bars at the State Championships. She competed on bars and beam at Regionals. In 2007, Mary Beth won the all-around at the Lady Luck Invitational. She finished second at the Hard Rock Invitational. She won bars at the California Classic. At the State Championships, she won vault, bars and the all-around. She finished seventh at Regionals. At JO Nationals, Mary Beth placed second on bars, sixth on beam and eighth all-around.

Mary Beth finished third all-around and first on beam at Regionals in 2008. She placed fourth on bars at JO Nationals. In 2009, Mary Beth won vault, beam and the all-around at the Crystal Cup. She won beam at the Lady Luck Invitational. She won bars and the all-around at the California Classic. Mary Beth placed second all-around at the Bear Country Invitational. At the State Championships, she won bars and beam. She placed second all-around. She finished fifth at Regionals. She finished eleventh all-around and sixth on beam at JO Nationals. In 2010, she won beam at the Vegas Cup. She won bars and beam at the State Championships.
