Corrie Dong Quan Lothrop was born on March 26, 1992 in Wuhan, China. She moved to the United States at the age of two. Her sister's name is Jennie. Corrie grew up in Danvers, masachusetts with her parents, Joan and Dan. She began gymnastics in 1994 at Yellow Jackets Gymnastics. Her dad owns the gym. In the fall of 2005, she moved to Hill's Gymnastics to further her training.

In 2000, she competed as a level six. She moved up to level seven in 2001. At the State Championships, she won vault, bars and the all-around title. Corrie competed level eight in 2002. At Regionals, she finished third all-around. She also competed at her second AAU Junior Olympics. She finished third on bars. In 2003, Corrie did well as a level nine. At Regionals, she placed high enough to qualify for Easterns. Easterns is the highest competition a level nine can attend. She finished her season at the AAU Junior Olympic Games. She won bars and placed second all-around.

Corrie moved to the highest level of the junior olympic program in 2004, level ten. Corrie placed third all-around at States. At Regionals, she qualified for JO Nationals. After JO Nationals, Corrie swept the gold medals at the AAU Junior Olympic Games. She also competed as a child pre-elite at the US Challenge.

The 2005 season went well for Corrie. She placed well at the American Challenge as a junior pre-elite. At States, she finished second all-around. Corrie struggled at Regionals. At the US Challenge, she also did well as a junior pre-elite. Corrie also swept the gold medals at the AAU Junior Olympic Games. It was then decided she would move to Hill's Gymnastics in Maryland with her mom.

She improved immediately at Hill's Gymnastics. Corrie won the Maryland Classic. She also won the all-around title at the Lights, Camera, Action meet in Southern California. Corrie also qualified for junior international elite. She skipped the US Classic with a minor injury. At Nationals, Corrie had a fantastic meet. She placed third on vault and sixth all-around! She was chosen for a training camp with other Pan American gymnasts but was injured.

Corrie competed at her first international meet in 2007. At the Gymnix International, she won vault. She also won three bronze medals. Corrie unfortunately suffered an ankle injury that hampered her performance at the US National Championships. Despite this she made her second national team! As a first year senior in 2008, Corrie had a great season. She participated at the Friendship Exchange, an international meet held at the National Team Training Center. At the US Classic, Corrie finished second all-around! She won bars. Her next meet was the US National Championships. She finished eighth all-around. By this performance, Corrie qualified for the Olympic Trials and the National Team. At the Olympic Trials, Corrie was invited to the final Olympic Selection Camp where she was named an alternate to the Olympic Team!

In the fall, she was selected for the PAGU Event Championships. She won vault. She finished second on bars, beam and floor. At the International Gymnastics Challenge in Belgium, she won the all-around. She also helped the United States Team to first place. Corrie competed at the Maryland Classic in January of 2009. She won vault and floor. At the Parkette Invitational, she won vault, bars, beam, and the all-around. She was selected for the European Tour. Corrie placed second all-around at the USA v. Germany meet. She also contributed at the USA v. France meet. Days before the US Classic, Corrie tore her Achilles. She signed with Utah in November.
