Rachel Luba was born on July 27, 1992. She trained at Rising Stars Gymnastics until February of 2007. She then moved to Elite Gymnastics Academy. She graduated from high school in 2010.

In 2002, Rachel competed level seven. She qualified to the State Championships. Rachel competed level eight in 2003. She finished 12th all-around at the State Championships. She continued competing level eight in 2004. She competed at Regionals. In 2006, Rachel finished in the top twenty at the State Championships. She competed at Regionals. She moved up to level nine in 2007. She won vault and the all-around at the Seashore Spectacular. At the Novato Classic, she won beam. She finished in the top fifteen at Regionals. She competed at Westerns.

Rachel began competing level ten in 2008. She finished fourth all-around at the Tachi Palace Invitational and Black Tie Invitational. She did not compete in the championship season. In 2009, Rachel finished fifth all-around at the Delta Classic. She placed second on beam at the Tachi Palace Invitational. At the Winter Invitational, she placed fifth all-around. She finished in the top ten at the State Championships. At Regionals, she finished eighth all-around, earning the alternate spot for JO Nationals. During her senior season in 2010, she placed second on beam at the Winter Invitational. She placed third on beam at te Vegas Cup. She finished second on beam at the State Championships. She competed at Regionals.
