Jessica Macay was born on June 1, 1992. She trained at Arena Gymnastics in New Jersey during her club career. She graduated from high school in 2010.

Jessica competed level eight during the 2004 season. She moved up to level nine for the 2005 season. She competed at Regionals. In 2006, Jessica continued competing level nine. Competing for her high school in the fall of 2007, Jessica was named to the Home News Tribune All-Area First-Team. She was also named first-team All-Conference on beam. She finished third on beam at the 2008 San Diego Classic. At Regionals, she finished second all-around. She finished in the top thirty all-around at Easterns. In the fall, Jessica set beam and floor school records for her high school. She was named to the Star Ledge First-Team All-Area. Jessica was named to the Home News Tribune All-Area first-team. She was also named Home News Tribune Gymnast of the Year. At the Great Middlesex County meet, she won floor and the all-around. She was named to the Star Ledge second-team All-State and NJSIAA first-team All-State.

Jessica finished first on vault and floor at the 2009 IGI Chicago Style. She placed second all-around. She also finished second all-around at the Classic for the Cure. At the State Championships, she placed third all-around. She finished fourth all-around at Regionals. At Easterns, she placed sixth on floor. In the fall, she placed second all-around at the New Jersey High School State Championships.

As a freshman at West Chester in 2011, Jessica did not compete.
