Brittney Mackins was born on August 13, 1991. She trained at Dutchess City Gymnastics through the 2002 season. She then moved to Parkettes. Brittney graduated from high school in 2009. She spent a year at community college before attending Utah State.

In 2001, Brittney competed level six. She finished third on bars at the I Love NY Cup. In 2002, she also finished third on bars at the I Love NY Cup, this time as a level seven. In 2004, she moved up to level eight. She then competed level nine. She continued competing level nine in 2005. She qualified to Regionals. Brittney began competing level ten in 2006. She finished second on floor at the Parkette Invitational.

Brittney finished sixth all-around at the State Championships in 2007. She also performed well at the 2008 State Championships. She missed the 2009 season but returned in 2010. She competed at the State and Regional Championships.
