Mary Scott Alexander was born on January 22, 1997. She trained at Southeastern Gymnastics for most of her career. She spent the 2007 season with International Gymnastics. She retired in October of 2009. She then began swimming and diving.
In 2004, Mary Scott competed level four. She won vault, bars, beam and the all-around at the Turkey Tumble. She finished second on vault, bars and the all-around at the State Championships. In the early spring, she won beam at the Carolina Classic and vault at the Buckeye Classic. In the fall season, she competed level six. She won vault, bars, floor and the all-around at the Harvest Hoe Down. At the State Championships, she won vault, bars, beam, floor and the all-around. She immediately began competing level seven in the spring of 2006. She finished in the top ten at the State Championships.
Mary Scott competed level eight in 2007. She finished fourth on floor at the State Championships. She competed at Regionals. In 2008, Mary Scott competed level nine. She won bars and the all-around at the Atlanta Crown Invitational. She finished first at the National Gymnastics Challenge. At the State Championships, she placed third all-around. She finished third on floor at Regionals. Mary Scott ended her season at Easterns. In 2009, Mary Scott won the Flip Fest Invitational as a level ten. She also won the National Gymnastics Challenge. She won floor at the State Championships. She finished seventh at Regionals. At JO Nationals, Mary Scott finished 28th all-around.
