Mackenzie Miller was born on October 19, 1998. Mackenzie is the daughter of Ruth and Chris Miller, who are both former Michigan State Gymnastics. Her younger sister, Savannah, is also a gymnast. Mackenzie trains at Oakland Gymnastics in Michigan, which her parents own. She will graduate from high school in 2016.
In 2006, Mackenzie competed level five. She moved up to level six in 2007. She finished sixth all-around at the State Championships. She was named to the National TOPs "B" Team. In 2008, Mackenzie competed level seven. She finished first on bars and the all-around at the Sand Dollar Invitational. She finished third all-around at the US Airborne Invitational. Mackenzie won the Twistars Invitational. She made the National TOPs "B" Team in the fall.
Mackenzie moved up to level eight in 2009. She finished third on bars at the CGA Coaches Spectacular. She finished second on floor at the For Love or Money meet and first on floor at the Wolverine Classic. At the State Championships, she placed second all-around and first on beam. Mackenzie finished seventh at Regionals. She made her third National TOPs "B" Team later that year. In 2010, Mackenzie won the all-around at the CGA Coaches Spectacular. She won bars, beam, and the all-around at the Circle of the Stars meet. At the State Championships, she finished first all-around. Mackenzie finished fifth all-around at Regionals.
Mackenzie began competing level nine in 2011. She finished first on bars, beam, floor and the all-around at the CGA Coaches Spectacular meet. At the Circle of Stars meet, she won vault, bars, floor and the all-around. Mackenzie won all five gold medals at the Athlete Warrior Challenge. At the Presidential Classic, she plaed second all-around. She finished first on bars, floor and the all-around at the Motown Madness meet. At the All American Invitational, she won bars, floor and the all-around. Mackenzie placed third all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she finished third on vault and bars. She finished 13th all-around at Easterns.
