Sydney Marinos was born on May 8, 1999. She trained at Gymnastics East through the 2010 season. She then moved to Auburn Gymnastics Center. She will graduate from high school in 2017.

In 2007, Sydney competed level four. She finished eleventh all-around at the State Championships. She moved up to level five in 2008. She finished first on beam and fourth all-around at the State Championships. In 2009, she won beam at the Great West Gym Fest. She placed third on beam at the State Championships. She competed level six in the fall. She finished third on beam at the Chocolate Classic. At the Scarecrow Scramble, she won bars and beam. She placed third all-around at the State Championships. Sydney immediately began competing level seven in 2010. She finished fourth on beam at the Battle in Seattle. She won floor at the Return of the Titans meet. At the State Championships, she placed second all-around. She finished in the top three on bars, beam and floor.

Sydney competed level eight in 2011. She finished second on bars at the Battle in Seattle meet. She won vault, bars, beam and the all-around at the MAC Open. At the March Madness meet, she own bars, floor and the all-around. She placed third on floor at the State Championships. At Regionals, she won beam. She placed third on floor and second all-around.
