Mackenzie Smith was born on November 10, 1995. She trains at Midwest Twisters in Wisconsin. She will graduate from high school in 2013.
In 2006, Mackenzie competed level eight. She finished eleventh all-around at Regionals. She won the all-around title at the 2007 State Championships. She finished tenth all-around at Regionals. Mackenzie began competing level nine in 2008. She finished first on bars at the IGI Chicago Style. She placed second all-around at the Harley Davidson meet. She won bars and the all-around at the Wisconsin Dells Vacation Classic. She won bars and placed second all-around at the State Championships. In 2009, Mackenzie finished first on vault and bars at the Harley Davidson meet. She placed first on bars and third all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she finished third all-around. Mackenzie placed third on bars at Westerns. She finished tenth all-around.
Mackenzie began competing level ten in 2010. She finished second all-around at the Gopher Invite. She won vault, bars, floor and the all-around at the Winter Luau meet. At the Salto Invitational, she won vault. She won vault and bars at the Harley Davidson meet. At the State Championships, she placed third all-around. She finished in the top ten at Regionals. She placed fifth on vault, fourth on floor and sixth all-around at the JO National Invitational Tournament. In 2011, Mackenzie won vault and beam at the Sand Dollar Invitational. She placed third all-around at the Harley Davidson meet. At the Scamps Invitational, she won vault. Mackenzie placed first on vault and third all-around at the State Championships. She finished sixth all-around at Regionals. Mackenzie competed at JO Nationals.
