M'rcy Matsunami was born on April 28, 1994. She trains at Premier Gymnastics in Nebraska. She will graduate from high school in 2012.

In 2006, M'rcy competed level eight. She placed in the top ten at the Maryland Classic. At the Cactus Cooler Invitational, she finished third on floor. M'rcy placed in the top ten at Regionals. She moved up to level nine in 2007. She finished fourth on bars and eighth all-around at Regionals. She finished 28th all-around at Westerns. In 2008, M'rcy won vault, bars and the all-around at the Long Beach Open. SHe finished first on beam and second all-around at Regionals. At Westerns, she placed 20th all-around.

M'rcy continued competing level nine in 2009. She won vault, bars and the all-around at the Harley Davidson meet. At Regionals, she won bars and the all-around. M'rcy also won bars and the all-around at Westerns! She moved up to level ten in 2010. She won vault at the New Yew Invite. She finished first on bars at the Excalibur Cup. M'rcy placed fourth all-around at the Northern Lights Invitational. At Regionals, she finished third on bars and fourth all-around. She ended her season at JO Nationals, placing 17th all-around and fifth on bars. In 2011, she finished first on bars and second all-around at the Nadia Comaneci Invitational. She placed third all-around at the Derby Classic. At Regionals, she finished fourth all-around. She finished 12th all-around at JO Nationals. She placed fifth on bars.
