Alexis Mattern was born on November 29, 1995. She trains at Artistic Sports Academy Plus. She will graduate from high school in 2014.
In 2005, Alexis competed level six. She finished in the top fifteen at the State Championships. She moved up to level seven in 2006. She finished second all-around at the Dutch Classic. Alexis competed level eight in 2007. She finished second on vault at the Buckeye Classic. Alexis began competing level nine in 2008. She won vault at the Buckeye Classic. She finished in the top fifteen at the State Championships. In 2009, Alexis finished second on vault at the Manhattan Classic. Alexis finished third on vault at the State Championships. She placed in the top twenty at Regionals.
Alexis began competing level ten in 2010. She finished third all-around at the Nittany Invitational. She placed second on bars at the John Pancott Invitational. Alexis finished third all-around at the Red Rose Invitational. She finished in the top fifteen at the State Championships. At Regionals, Alexis placed second on beam and sixth all-around. She competed at JO Nationals. In 2011, Alexis won the all-around title at the Parkette Invitational. She placed second on bars at the Excalibur Cup. Alexis competed on two events at the State Championships. At Regionals, she placed third on vault. She finished fifth on vault at the JO National Invitational Tournament.
