Sophie Mazza was born on January 2, 1996. She competes with Team Lightning out of Erie Gymnastics Center. She will graduate from high school in 2014.

In 2005, Sophie competed level five. She won the all-around at the Star's & Stripes Invitational. She moved up to level seven in 2006. She won the all-around at both the Star's & Stripes Invitational and Dominique Moceanu Invitational. Sophie competed level eight in 2007. She finished first all-around at the Star's & Stripes Invitational and Dominique Moceanu Invitational. She qualified to Regionals. Sophie competed level nine in 2008. She placed sixth all-around at the State Championships. She qualified to Regionals.

Sophie continued competing level nine in 2009. She placed third all-around at the Star's & Stripes Invitational. She won bars and floor at the Winter Face-Off. Sophie finished in the top twenty at the State Championships. She placed third on vault and eighth all-around at Regionals. In 2010, Sophie finished third all-around at the Winter Graffiti Invitational and Star's & Stripes Invitational. She won bars and the all-around at the Pink Invitational. Sophie placed tenth all-around at the State Championships. She finished third all-around at Regionals. At Easterns, Sophie finished tenth all-around.
