Jaclyn McCartin was born on August 30, 1993. She trained at Charter Oak Gliders until the fall of 2010. She then moved to West Coast Elite Gymnastics.
In 2002, Jaclyn competed level five. She won a bronze medal on bars at States. She moved up to level six in 2003. She finished third on bars and second on floor at States. She immediately moved into level seven competition in the spring of 2004. She won beam at the Flips USA Invitational. Jaclyn continued competing level seven in 2005. She won bars and beam at the Flips USA Invitational. She won bars, floor and the all-around at the San Diego Classic. She won bars, beam, floor and the all-around at the Winter Sun Invitational. At the Level 7 State meet, Jaclyn finished third on beam and fourth all-around. She moved up to level eight in 2006. She won bars, beam and the all-around at the California Classic. At States, she finished third on bars and beam. She ended her season by winning beam and placing second all-around at Regionals.
Jaclyn continued competing level eight in 2007. She finished second all-around and first on floor at the Long Beach Open. She won bars, beam, floor and the all-around at the Golden State Friendship Challenge and Top Flight Invite. At States, she won bars, beam and the all-around. She ended her season by winning bars, beam, floor and the all-around at Regionals. She moved up to level nine for the 2008 season. At the California Classic, she won beam. Jaclyn finished third all-around at the above meet and Heart of a Champion Invitational. At States, she won the all-around. She finished second on bars and beam. She then finished twelfth all-around at Regionals. Jaclyn ended her season at Westerns, finished second all-around. She also won bars and placed second on beam.
Jaclyn moved up to level ten for the 2009 season. She started by winning bars, beam, floor and the all-around with a 38.125 at the San Diego Classic. She then won bars and placed second all-around at the Long Beach Open. Jaclyn won bars and floor at both States and Regionals. She finished fourth all-around at both meet. At JO Nationals, Jaclyn won bars, beam and the all-around! She also finished second on floor. By placing in the top four, she made the JO National Team.
She continued competing level ten in the early half of 2010. She won the all-around at the San Diego Classic. At the Long Beach Open, she qualified for the Nastia Liukin Cup where she placed second on beam. Jaclyn's final level ten meet was the State Championships where she won bars and the all-around. She qualified to senior international elite at the ASU Elite Qualifier. She also qualified to the Visa Championships. In August, Jaclyn committed to the University of Washington.
