Megan McClelland was born on June 4, 1997. She trained at Thomas Gymnastics through the spring of 2004. She then moved to Southeastern Gymnastics. She will graduate from high school in 2015.

In 2005, Megan competed level four. She finished fourth all-around at the Carolina Classic. In the fall, she competed level five. She placed third all-around at both the Judges Cup and Fall Frolic. Megan won vault, bars and the all-around at the Harvest Hoe Down. She won the all-around at the Turkey Tumble meet. Megan placed second on bars and the all-around at the State Championships. She competed level six in 2006. She won the all-around title at the Survival Invitational. She finished second all-around at the State Championships. Megan won the all-around title at the 2007 Lady Luck Invitational.

Megan competed level seven in 2008. She won bars at the Atlanta Crown Invitational. She finished fourth all-around at the Buckeye Classic. She won vault, bars and the all-around at the National Gymnastics Challenge. Megan placed third all-around at the State Championships. She moved up to level eight in 2009. She won bars and floor at the Flip Fest Invitational. Megan won bars at the Hilton Head Island Invitational. She finished third all-around at the WOGA Classic. She won bars at the Charleston Cup. Megan won floor at the State Championships. She placed third all-around. At Regionals, she finished third on beam and fifth all-around.

She began competing level nine in 2010. She won bars at the Charleston Cup. Megan finished second on bars and both the State and Regional Championships. She placed fourth all-around at Regionals. At Level 9 Easterns, Megan finished second on bars and 14th all-around.
