Cassidy McComb was born on January 6, 1989. She made the National TOP Team in 1995, 1996 and 1997. She trained at Green Valley Gymnastics before moving to Sports Club Las Vegas in 1999. Since 2001, she has trained at Gymcats. She has signed with the University of Georgia
In 1998, she competed as a level eight for Sports Club Las Vegas. In 2001, Cassidy competed as a level nine. By 2003, she was competing as a level ten. She won beam at the Level 10 Regional Championships. She finished twelfth all-around at the JO National Championships. She continued competing as a level ten in 2004. She won the all-around state title. Cassidy then won the Regional All-Around Title! At the JO National Championships, she finished seventh all-around.
Cassidy won the all-around state title in 2005. She finished third all-around at Regionals. Cassidy placed seventh all-around at JO Nationals again in 2005. After the level ten season, Cassidy qualified to senior international elite. She competed at the US Classic. She returned to level ten in 2006. She did not compete all-around at the State Championships. Cassidy qualified to the JO National Championships at Regionals. Cassidy placed fifth all-around at the JO National Championships.
She began attending the University of Georgia in the fall of 2007. During her freshmn season in 2008, she bcompeted in the all-around. She won an all-around title against Kentucky. She earned SEC Gymnast of the Week for this performance. She was on the All-SEC Freshman Team. She was picked as SEC Freshman of the Year. At the NCAA Championships, she was a first-team All-American on floor. She qualified for event finals. As a sophomore, Cassie competed in the all-around and uneven bars once. She mainly forcused on vault, beam and floor.
