She began gymnastics in 1997 at the age of nine. She trained at Gymnastics Pacifica until 2001. She then moved to SCEGA where she finished her club career.

In 1999, she competed as a level seven. She finished third all-around at the Aloha Gymfest. She won beam and finished third on floor. In 2001, she competed as a level nine. Brittani won a bronze medal on vault at States. She finished ninth all-around and fourth on bars at Regionals. At the 2002 Level 9 Western Championships she won the all-around, vault, bars and floor titles. Brittani needed to finish in the top seven at Regionals to qualify for the JO Nationals in 2003. This was no problem for her. She finished second all-around and won the vault competition. Brittani went on to finish tenth all-around at the JO National Championships. She also finished first on bars. At the beginning of 2005, she won vault, bars, floor and all-around titles at the WOGA Classic. She continued her quest by winning everything except for floor at Regionals. Her final level 10 meet was the JO Nationals. Brittani won vault, bars and floor. She finished fourth all-around.

After the level 10 season she started competing as a senior international elite. After placing tenth all-around at the US Classic she competed at the National Championships. Brittani finished 11th all-around and made her first national team. A torn achilles kept her out of action in 2006. She returned to full strength before disaster struck in November of 2006. Brittani was in a car accident while home for Thanksgiving break. A resulting foot injury made her redshirt her freshman year at UCLA.

She returned in 2008 to earn Pac-10 Newcomer of the Year. She could not finish the season after rupturing her left Achilles tendon on floor in March. She competed in the all-around before the injury. She placed in the top three six times. She won vault three times and floor twice. Brittani also won beam. She came back in 2009. She was a mainstay in the vault, bars and floor lineups.
