Amanda McGee was born on May 31, 1994. She trained at Willow Tree Gymnastics until the spring of 2007. She then moved to Uzelac Gymnastics for two years. Amanda now trains at Excalibur. She will graduate from high school in 2012.
In 2006, Amanda competed level seven. She won bars, beam, floor and the all-around at the Stars and Stripes meet. She moved up to level nine in 2007. She placed third on vault at the Stars and Stripes meet. Amanda qualified to Regionals with Uzelac Gymnastics. She continued competing level nine in 2008. She won vault and finished sixth all-around at the State Championships. Amanda competed at Regionals. She began competing level ten in 2009. She won the all-around at the Spring in the Mountains meet. Amanda finished second on vault at the State Championships. She competed at Regionals.
She continued to improve in 2010. Amanda finished second all-around and first on vault at the Parkette Invitational. She won the all-around title at the State Championships! At Regionals, she placed second on vault. She finished tenth all-around. Amanda placed sixth all-around and first on vault at the JO National Invitational Tournament. In 2011, Amanda finished first on vault at the Parkette Invitaitonal. She won the all-around title at the Excalibur Cup. Amanda placed twelfth all-around at the State Championships. She competed at Regionals.
Amanda opened the 2011-2012 season at the Richmond Fall Classic, where she won all five gold medals. At the Christmas on the Chesapeake meet, she won vault and beam.
