Olivia McKinney was born on April 12, 1994. She trained at Beach Team Tumblers through the 2006 season. She then moved to Terry and Dons Gymnastics for one year. She began training at Gymnastics and More with the Ocean Flippers team in the summer of 2008. She will graduate from high school in 2012.

In 2006, Olivia competed level six. She won the all-around title at the State Championships in 2007. In 2008, she competed level seven. She won bars, beam and the all-around at the State Championships. Olivia competed level eight in 2009. She finished first on bars and the all-around at hte Lake Murray Invite. She won beam and the all-around at the Beach Break meet. She won bars at the Tiger Paw Classic. At the Charleston Cup, she won vault. She own beam and the all-around at the State Championships. She finished in the top fifteen at Regionals.

Olivia began competing level nine in 2010. She finished first on floor at the Tiger Paw Classic. She won vault and floor at the Beach Break meet. At the Gamecock Invite, she finished third all-around. She placed second all-around at the Charleston Cup. At the State Championships, she placed third on vault and second on beam. She was the alternate for Easterns. In 2011, she finished third all-around at the Sweetheart Invite. She won vault and floor at the Beach Break meet. At Regionals, she finished seventh all-around.
